Dated account readings · local worksheet
Website file growth observation log
Record comparable dated hosting file-count and storage readings, review changes between observations, and see clearly labeled linear scenarios. No account access or forecast.
Keep dated observations of file count and account storage from the same hosting account and measurement scope. Enter one reading per line as YYYY-MM-DD,file count, storage GB. The calculation runs in this browser; entries are not sent or saved by this page.
Enter at least two dated readings to compare observed file-count and storage changes.
How to collect comparable readings
- Use the same provider account, dashboard, date convention, units, and included directories or services each time. Record the date shown by the dashboard and the exact file-count and storage values.
- Do not mix a whole-account total with a website-only total, or include email/backups in only some readings. Provider tools can differ in which files they count and when displayed totals refresh; check your provider's definitions.
- Enter dates in ascending order, with one observation per line. The worksheet calculates the change between every adjacent pair and the net change from the first to last reading. Per-30-day changes are normalized by elapsed calendar days; they are arithmetic summaries of your entries.
The optional 30-day and 90-day figures extend the first-to-last average rate from your latest reading as a straight-line scenario. They are not forecasts or estimates of future uploads. New files, deletions, backups, logs, caches, email, cleanup, and changes in measurement scope can alter the rate. A short or unusual observation period may not represent later use.
File count and storage are separate measurements: a count change does not determine the size of added files, and storage change does not reveal which files changed. This worksheet does not read your hosting account, identify files, calculate a safe quota buffer, or infer provider limits.

Compare file count with an account threshold you have verified using the file/inode headroom worksheet. Model storage runway separately with the storage runway calculator, which requires a quota and a measured monthly storage change.

How it works
Enter at least two same-scope observations in ascending YYYY-MM-DD order, with file count and decimal GB on each line. Review changes between readings and the arithmetic 30-day and 90-day scenarios based on the observed average rate.
Good to know
What should I record?
Record the date, file count, and storage amount shown by the same provider account view each time. Keep units and scope consistent, and note whether the view includes databases, email, backups, or other directories.
Are the 30-day and 90-day numbers predictions?
No. They extend the average change between your first and latest observations at an unchanged rate. They are linear scenarios only; actual usage can change, and the worksheet does not inspect your account.
Does this tell me whether I am near an inode or storage limit?
No. It summarizes entered observations without a provider threshold. Verify applicable limits and included files in your own plan and account documentation.
