Compare shared hosting costs for one small WordPress site

A transparent comparison method for a low-traffic, one-site WordPress workload. See prepaid introductory terms, renewal pricing, annualized renewal cost, assumptions and source links.

What does this comparison answer?

For one small, low-traffic WordPress site using US dollar list prices, it compares the publicly displayed Hostinger Premium and Bluehost Basic shared hosting offers. It reports the prepaid introductory term separately from renewal pricing. This is a cost snapshot, not a universal best-host recommendation; plans and prices can change by country, checkout, tax and promotion.

How do I compare different introductory terms?

Do not compare the monthly headline alone. Hostinger Premium showed $2.99 per month with $143.52 billed for 48 months, renewing at $10.99 per month. Bluehost Basic showed $3.99 per month and renews at $9.99 per month for a 36-month term. The upfront totals are $143.52 and $143.64 respectively, but cover different lengths: 48 months versus 36 months. Bluehost's listed renewal term totals $359.64 for 36 months ($9.99 × 36). Hostinger's page states the renewal monthly rate but does not state a renewal term total in the captured offer, so multiply $10.99 by the actual term shown at checkout.

What is the recurring annualized hosting cost?

At the displayed renewal rates, Hostinger Premium is $131.88 per 12 months ($10.99 × 12) and Bluehost Basic is $119.88 per 12 months ($9.99 × 12). This annualized view excludes domain renewal, taxes, add-ons and price changes. Bluehost's introductory price is explicitly shown for a 36-month selection; Hostinger's offer is billed upfront for 48 months. Confirm the selected billing period and full checkout total before purchase.

What workload and exclusions define the comparison?

Assumed workload: one informational WordPress website with low to moderate traffic, no online store, no unusually high storage or compute demand, and a domain you can manage separately. Bluehost describes its shared hosting as suited to low-to-moderate traffic websites. This comparison does not benchmark performance, uptime, support quality or migration experience. A free first-year domain offer is not treated as a permanent saving: Bluehost says its domain renews at the then-current rate after year one. Taxes, optional services, domain renewal and future rate changes are excluded.

Which tools help check my own costs?

Use the website cost calculator at /tools/cost.html to add your own domain, hosting and builder assumptions. Use the hosting needs estimator at /tools/hosting.html to explore workload assumptions. Both are educational tools, not quotes.

Are there referral links or a paid ranking?

No. This page has no active referral links. Providers are included because current first-party pricing pages expose both introductory and renewal figures for a one-site shared-hosting use case, not because of payment or an endorsement. See /disclosure.html.
