Compare website email costs for one mailbox

Compare one mailbox on one custom domain over 36 months. Use one currency and prices for your country and billing term. This worksheet separates the hosting cost you assign to email from the standalone mailbox subscription; it does not recommend a provider or assume that bundled email has no cost.

First, verify what “included” means. A hosting plan may include email for a limited introductory period, with mailbox count and storage limits. Hostinger's current pricing page, for example, lists two mailboxes per website free for one year on Premium. Its Help Center says new hosting plans include two free mailboxes per domain for 12 months and directs customers to their account for current limits. The hosting plan's own renewal is separate from an email charge after that included period.

How the estimate works

The included-mail option adds your monthly hosting-cost allocation in every modeled month, then adds the email fee only after the included term. The standalone option uses its introductory monthly price for the entered whole-month term, then its renewal monthly price. The result shows each year's estimate and 36-month total, plus the storage amounts you entered. Subscription charges are modeled monthly for comparison; this is not a forecast of the amount billed upfront.

Set the hosting allocation to 0 if you already pay for the hosting plan for the website and want to compare only the additional email charge. If email influenced your hosting purchase, allocate a reasonable share of the hosting price. Domain registration, taxes, migration, add-ons, storage upgrades, and future price changes are excluded. Confirm the provider's renewal amount, billing frequency, included mailbox duration, storage definition, and what happens to mail when the hosting plan changes.

Storage and billing terms to check

Storage figures are not always directly comparable. Google Workspace Business Starter describes 30 GB pooled storage per user shared across the organization, rather than a separate mailbox-only quota. Zoho's plan table lists mail storage per user and presents both annual and monthly billing options for some plans. Read the exact plan and account terms; do not treat a pooled allowance as dedicated mailbox storage.
